Which basket size should I pick for my team?
We offer four sizes — Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large — built for teams of different sizes. Each one is described in detail on the Our baskets page, with the recommended number of portions and a sample of what’s inside. When in doubt, we suggest going one size bigger than you think you need: fruit always disappears faster than expected. And if the size isn’t quite right after the first few deliveries, you can adjust it anytime from your customer account.
What if we picked the wrong size?
No problem. You can change sizes in two clicks from your customer account, starting with the next delivery. Too small the week of the offsite, too big during the holidays — everything adjusts week by week, as long as you let us know before Friday noon.
Can we customize what's in the basket?
Yes! Each week, your basket is made up of 4 to 5 seasonal fruits chosen by our team based on what’s coming in. From there, you can tweak the contents however you like — add more of one fruit, dial back another — it’s your call. You manage everything from your customer account, before Friday at noon the week of your delivery.
What's a "portion"?
We use this unit so you can easily adjust your basket by swapping X portions of one fruit for X portions of another. The weight of a portion varies by fruit, and works out to around 130g on average. For your reference: the FSVO recommends 2 portions of fruit per adult per day.
Bananas and citrus — those aren't local or seasonal, right?
To mix things up, especially in winter when the Swiss selection narrows. The bananas are always organic, sourced through our Swiss Producers for quality and traceability. Citrus comes from France, Italy, or Spain — always organic and in season there. If you’d rather skip them, you can remove them from your basket anytime from your customer account.
What if we're not happy with the first basket?
If the first delivery doesn’t win you over, send us an email at pro@uglyfruits.ch by noon on the Friday after you receive your basket. We’ll refund up to CHF 44.– — the value of the smallest basket. This guarantee is valid within 30 days of your first delivery, once per company.
Where and when do you deliver?
Delivery is included throughout Switzerland via Swiss Post, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. It’s reliable, free, and covers the whole country — including smaller towns and outlying areas. We also deliver to construction sites, workshops, gyms, coworking spaces… nothing stops us from delivering fresh organic fruit that’s good for health and great for morale! We’re rolling out Monday delivery by cargo bike soon in Geneva, Lausanne, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, Bern, and Biel. Interested in Mondays in your city? Click that day when placing your order — we’ll let you know as soon as it’s available where you are.
What happens if no one's at the office on delivery day?
No problem. When you sign up, you tell us where to drop off the basket (reception, a storage room, a hallway, etc.). We’ll leave it there even if no one’s around. We recommend choosing a cool, accessible spot so the fruit stays in great shape until someone grabs it. If a public holiday falls on your usual day, we’ll let you know in advance and shift the delivery to the closest business day.
Can we easily pause or cancel?
Yes, free of charge and with no minimum commitment. You manage everything from your customer account: temporary pause for company holidays, size change, delivery address update, or full cancellation. The only rule: any change has to reach us before Friday at noon the week before delivery. After that, your delivery is already locked in and can’t be canceled.
What happens if our delivery day falls on a public holiday?
We adapt to the holiday and the canton: earlier delivery, shifted to the next business day, or pushed to the following week. We’ll let you know by email one to two weeks ahead. Nothing for you to do on your end.
How does billing work?
You receive an invoice at the end of the month, with 30 days to pay. If you manage several delivery addresses, they all show up on a single consolidated invoice — one document for your accounting. If the price of an active Subscription changes, we’ll let you know by email at least 15 days in advance. You’re free to cancel before the new price kicks in if you’d rather.
Is the basket tax-deductible?
Yes. In Switzerland, fruit provided to employees counts as a deductible operating expense, just like coffee.
Is the fruit actually ugly?
Off-spec, sometimes oddly shaped, but once they hit the counter no one can tell the difference. Some are actually picture-perfect — they just come from overproduction. People often ask us why we call them “Ugly” — but mostly, why they taste so good ;)
Does your fruit have body-image issues?
We asked them. They’re doing fine.
What happens if my coworker eats my banana?
Internal policy matter. UglyFruits doesn’t get involved in coworker mediation.
